The Star Farms Village at North Port Stewardship District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 2024-292, Laws of Florida (“Act”), and Chapter 189, Florida Statutes being situated entirely within Sarasota County, Florida and established on June 14, 2024 as supplemental and alternative method to manage, own, operate, construct, and finance capital infrastructure systems, facilities and services.
The Star Farms Village at North Port Stewardship CDD covers approximately 2,086 acres of land, generally located south of SR 64, west of CR 675, east of Bourneside Blvd., and north of 61st Avenue E, wholly within the City of North Port, Sarasota County, Florida.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
